Infiniti and beyond – the rise and rise of Infiniti Scaffolding

Scarborough-based Infiniti Scaffolding has unveiled its new headquarters, a 10,000sqft site that includes new offices, warehouses and storage yard, while also opening its first depot in Leeds.

Its new North Yorkshire HQ, at the Olympian Trading Estate, Eastfield, is now home to a company that employs about 40 staff including skilled scaffolders, scaffold inspectors, expert builders, roofers, general labourers and drivers, as well as an experienced administration and office team.

Infiniti Scaffolding, which incorporates the Infiniti Roofing and Infiniti Building businesses, continues to win top quality construction-related contracts across Yorkshire and the North of England.

The new West Yorkshire, 4,000sqft depot, at Astra Park, Parkside Lane in Leeds, will also support is growing list of commercial and industrial clients, local authorities, housing associations, other construction companies and private clients. Recent contracts include for ENGIE, ESH, Balfour Beatty, Keepmoat Homes, Geo Houlton & Sons, Mitie Group, Persimmon Homes, Wharfedale Homes, William Hare and J Tomlinson.

Alex Willgrass, co-founding director, says that Infiniti Scaffolding is developing a distinct USP in the scaffolding and roofing sector.

“When we set up Infiniti Scaffolding in 2015, we wanted to have only the very best scaffolders and construction employees in the industry,” said Mr Willgrass. “It’s been a big investment, finding and training and employing the right people, but we’ve done that. Our employees are as good as you’ll get anywhere, and they have the best accreditations and qualifications.

“The high-quality of the work we have won in the years since we opened reflects that investment, and as a business we feel well placed to be able to work in other challenging environments such as power stations and similarly stringently controlled areas.”

All Infiniti Scaffolding Ltd. scaffolders are National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) Certified TG20:13, and NASC Certified SG4 and are regulated by the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS); and all staff are 100 per cent CISRS trained and registered.

“We invest heavily in continuous improvement and continually undertake regular reviews of individual employees’ progress and training needs to fill any skill gaps, while giving them the necessary plant and tool operator training, such as fork-lift, abrasive wheels and mobile elevating work platform,” added Mr Willgrass.

“We are also committed to providing entry-level job opportunities for scaffolding apprentices on the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Apprenticeship scheme.”

As well as its investment in its employees and new infrastructure and equipment, the company continues to invest in industry-leading accreditations* and is currently working towards gaining ISO 45001, the occupational health and safety management systems benchmark.

The company’s ethos of innovation and continual improvement can be seen with Infiniti Roofing’s approval as an accredited contractor for Sika Liquid Plastics.

“Sika Liquid Plastics is a highly regarded triple-A rated company, the ‘Rolls Royce of flat roofing’” said Mr Willgrass. “This is a major accreditation for us and gives significant extra security for the client.”

Depending on the job and product specification (silver, gold or platinum), Sika Liquid Plastics will guarantee the work up to 15 or 25 years.

“We have ambitious plans for Infiniti Scaffolding, and we will use our new Scarborough HQ and our recently opened depot in Leeds, to expand further across the North and into the rest of the UK,” added Mr Willgrass.
